March 2012

Thursday, March 8 - Youth Group Meeting - Starting time:  6:00 pm

Location:  Scott County Park / Golf Course, Gate City, Va.

All Youth with the Scott County Horse Association is invited. Activities for the summer will be discussed.

 

Saturday, March 10 - VET Day at the Park - Starting time:  1:30 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park

Dr. Bill Fuller will be available to provide various veterinary services such as pulling coggins, rabies shots, etc.

 

Saturday, March 31 - Wallen Ridge Trail Ride - Starting time:  10:00 am

Riders will meet and depart from the Daniel Boone Travel Center in Duffield, Va. at 10:00 am.

 

April 2012

Saturday, April 14 - Jasper to Kane Gap Trail Ride - Starting time:  10:00 am

Riders will meet and depart from the Daniel Boone Travel Center in Duffield, Va. at 10:00 am.

 

Saturday, April 28 - SCRHA Spring Classic Horse Show - Starting time:  1:00 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park, Dungannon, Va.

May 2012

Saturday, May 12 - SCRHA Walking & Racking Horse Show - Starting time:  2 pm & 4:30 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park, Dungannon, Va.

Saturday, May 26 - SCRHA Golden Gaits Horse Show - Starting time:  5:00 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park, Dungannon, Va.

Saturday, May 26 - Siege of the Blockhouse - Starting time:  10:00 am

Rider will meet at the amphitheater parking lot at Natural Tunnel State Park at 10:00 am.  Riders will be portraying the setters traveling to Kentucky and must be dressed in attire appropriate for the year of 1775.  For more information, please contact Charlie Green at (276)452-2396.

 

June 2012

Saturday, June 2 - National Trail Day Ride - Starting time:  10:30 am

Riders will meet at the Scott County Horse Park at 10:30 am and trailer to either McGee Creek or Little Stony Falls to ride.

 

Saturday, June 16 - Dungannon Fire Dept. Horse Show - Starting time:  5:00 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park, Dungannon, Va.

July 2012

Wednesday, July 4 - Independence Day Trail Ride

Rider will meet at the Scott County Horse Park following the parade in Dungannon.

 

Saturday, July 14 - Meadow Creek Trail Ride in Greene County, Tn.

Riders may ride for the day and/or camp overnight.  Reservations are required if you desire to camp overnight.  Contact Ken Dye for more information at (423)357-5954.

 

Saturday, July 21 - SCRHA Firecracker Fun Horse Show - Starting time:  5:00 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park, Dungannon, Va.

August 2012

Saturday, August 4 - Rack-N-Roll Horse Show - Starting time:  5:00 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park, Dungannon, Va.

Proceeds benefit the youth club in the horse association.

Saturday, August 18 - Stanleytown to Maple Gap Trail Ride - Starting time:  10:00 am

Riders will meet and depart from Rye Cove High School parking lot at 10:00 am.  If interested in gathering after the ride, please bring grills, burgers, and fixings for a cookout.

 

Saturday, August 25 - Burley Fest Horse Show - Starting time:  5:00 pm

Location:  Scott County Horse Park, Dungannon, Va.

Saturday, October 6 - Trail Ride on the Holston

BBQ will be provided by Deetsie Vermillion after the ride at a cost of $5 per person.  Please RSVP by October 2 if you plan to eat by calling (276)386-9548.  In case of bad weather, the rain date will be Saturday, October 20.
